Attention everyone –> mebrandon86. We have a new mod member on the site who will be adding/editing content from time to time. He also recently built a beastly machine. Stats and photos to come soon..
Hey all, I’ve been toying with the idea of creating an Opera Bugs page so anyone can submit a quick summary of a bug that they posted to the Opera Bug Wizard. If I build a page like this, it will be useful to all Opera fans/addicts if they want to ‘track’ a bug. Currently it is not possible to track bugs that you submit via the bug wizard. This submission tool would allow users to keep track of these bugs in a public way and update the status when there is a change.
I was thinking that I might have items very similar to the bug wizard so users can just copy and paste…making it very easy to add to the bug collection. The following entry items give an idea:
What is the Bug Number Given by Opera Bug Wizard?
What Date Bug was posted on Opera Bug Wizard:
What kind of problem is this?
Where is the problem?
->Web page problem
->Mail, news & feeds
Brief summary of the problem encountered
What URL triggers this bug, if any?
Describe in 3 steps or more how to reproduce this bug
When following the steps described above:
1. What do you expect to appen?
2. What actually happens?
Specify what version of Opera you are using:
That is about all that I’ve come up with so far, but I have not began coding anything yet. We’ll see in the next few weeks to come.
Ok, so we all know that you can have a ‘Saved Session’ in Opera and have it open first. This enables you to have what they call “Multiple Homepages”, but I recently had an idea for true ‘Multiple Homepages’. Here it is..
The idea is simple really. You start out by going to the ‘Bookmarks -> Manage bookmarks…’
Now you want to create a folder to store all of the ‘Multiple Homepages’ in. This way you can add as many as you wish and edit the list anytime. Click the arrow beside the ‘Add’ button and select ‘Add New Folder’…
Now that you have a folder made, you can name it anything. Right click on the new folder and in the menu select ‘Properties’. In the properties menu you can edit the name of the folder at anytime. For this example I have called the folder ‘homepages’. The most important part of this step is that you give the folder the nickname ‘homepages’ as seen in the image below. You may add a description if you wish, then click ‘OK’ to save settings.
Now that you’ve added the folder and named it what you wanted, you just need to add a button somewhere so you can open all of your ‘Multiple Homepages’ whenever you wish. To do this simply drag the button you see below to any place in your toolbar as seen in the image below.
Drag me to your toolbar–> [BUTTON]
Now that you’ve finished adding the button where ever you wish, you are finished! That being said, I’d like to say that this task would be accomplished much more easily if Opera would allow us to use nicknames as homepages in the ‘Preferences’ window..
But since they don’t..we are forced to find ‘remedies’ for our problems. I am planning to suggest this to the Opera Developing team so they can possibly add this in the future. It should be as simple as removing the code that inserts the extra ‘http://’ in front of any string that you insert into the homepage text box. (you can see this for your self if you set your homepage in Preferences to ‘homepages’ or something like that then reopen Preferences to see what it saved it as.
I’ve been busy busy this week! I haven’t had a lot of time to add to the site, but I have filed several bugs at the opera bug wizard. Hey they fix them soon, but you never know how soon/long it will take cause they don’t have a proper tracker installed. It’s just a submission tool.
I guess I could just make my own here, hehe, and have people post but reports here that they have posted on the bug submission tool so we can track the bug report and status..letting the submitter edit/update the submission. If anyone has any suggestions just drop them in the comments section!
So I was playing guitar a bit yesterday and I finally got around to transferring some music videos that I found on youtube to my 30gb video iPod. It was very easy with the ‘SUPER’ video converter program that I found here (use the Mirror link to download). The videos I got were of Eric Clapton and Robert Cray playing the song ‘Old Love’ and also Stevie Ray Vaughan playing ‘Voodoo Chile’ which is originally a Jimi Hendrix cover (I like Stevie’s version more tho, lol)…
Stevie Ray Vaughan – Voodoo Chile (slight return)
So this is the song that I’m currently trying to master (Stevie’s version anyway, lol). I need to start adding more stuff to the site don’t I!? Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments section! I’m off..

I’ve been spending some of my bored time working on a small ‘fun’ project that I had been wanting to get started. I made an Alarm Clock that you can create an account/password for and setup your very own list of alarms to wake you up in the morning. It is very easy to use and it works! If you by chance do have any questions or comments then please feel free to ask away! Comments can be left here for this blog entry..or you can send me an email if you wish (look at the contact me page). I’m always open for suggestions and constructive criticism.
As always..I’ve tried my best to make it follow webstandards and w3 standards, haha. I’m always coding by standards, but that’s what us Opera fanatics do, lol. We don’t force people to use Opera, we already know it’s the best.
Back on topic, I hope you all find the Online Alarm Clock useful!
So I have some funny news this time. A few weeks ago, I had a doctors appointment to get my leg x-ray and since I was seeing a foot doctor this time instead of my bone surgeon I had to fill out all new paper work. Well while I was filling out some papers I had to take my insurance card out of my wallet and so I sat my wallet on my lap. Then a few moments later the nurse came out of the back and called me on back. So I go on back to the patient room and wait for the doctor. A moment later they take my to get my leg x-rayed and when I got back to my patient room I realized that I didn’t have my wallet. I was pretty sure that it didn’t fall out of my pocket and that I didn’t drop it on the way to get x-rayed. So I knew it must be in the lobby/waiting room. My mother who was waiting there with me at the time went to check to see if anyone had found a wallet while I was waiting for the busy doctor to make his rounds. She came back and had found nothing. So I decided to go check the lobby my self. When I got to the lobby I found a family of three sitting where I had sat with my mother and so I asked them if they had found a wallet. They made rude faces and expressions at me and told me a woman just came looking for it and that they hadn’t seen it.
I told them, “Well it’s my wallet that I lost and we’re just trying to find it.” So they made a half-ass effort to look around their seats for the wallet. I looked around and under the chairs they were in. I told them that if they ended up finding anything just to hand it to the desk and I’d check back later. Going back to the patient room I knew that they had my wallet and were not saying anything. I just got a bad vibe from them. Especially the woman who glared at me. I told my mom I was sure they had it. Then I told the front desk that I lost my wallet and to notify me if anyone turned one in. That’s about the time that this old man in the lobby started acting crazy and started trying to get back to the patients room, which is locked so others cannot get in. He started demanding that they let him in the back rooms. They ended up calling the police on him, but when the police got there they took him to a back room and found out that he knew what had happened to my wallet. As the older man sat in a back room telling the police what had happened, I was in my little room talking to my doctor…not knowing if they had even found my wallet yet. As I was about to finish up talking to the foot doctor one of my nurses walked in and waited…so I knew she had good news. She took me back to the room where the older man was waiting with three police officers and they questioned me a bit about my wallet. What does it look like, what color is it, what do you have in it, how much money, how many cards, other valuables, etc. They took notes on what I said and then they all went out to the waiting room and confronted the three people sitting where I had sat in the lobby before. Evidently, according to one of the officers, when they asked the woman if she had my wallet she said “No” and made a fraction of an attempt to open her purse up and show what was inside. The older man who know what happened said that he did not see my wallet at first, but he noticed it on the floor when he saw the woman look around and then “inauspiciously” look around as she “slid the wallet up the side of her leg and eased it into a magazine for a few minutes.” She apparently wanted everyone to forget she picked up a wallet off the floor, so she decides to put it in a magazine and act like she’s reading it for 2-3 minutes.
The the man said he saw her drop it down into her purse..out of the magazine. So when the cops searched they found it in a small side pocket on the inside of her purse. She told the officers that she thought it was her husbands wallet, because she said that her purse falls over and drops stuff so often that she didn’t even think about it and simply picked it up. Now I’m a reasonable person. I’d give her a shadow of a doubt…had she not lied to my face. Remember..my mother went and checked with hem first to see if they had found a wallet since I lost mine, then I went out and searched and asked them if they had found one and they just glared at me and said no. This woman deserves every bit of prosecution that I laid on her. I haven’t heard yet of the court date for her to get “Judged”, but I’ll be sure to be there even if I’m not required, just so I can stair her in the face and have a big smile on my face when she is paying the court appearance fee as well as a huge theft fee and gets a criminal record stamped on her life forever. I must say that I was very pleased with the justice that was served on that day. Makes me proud to be a tax paying citizen!
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the story. I’ll have more frequent postings in the near future.
