Fall break is over..back at school

I’m back at school after a 4 day weekend for Fall break. I really needed that break from school, but unfortunately one of my professors with no life decided it would be best to show everyone how much he hates his life by giving us a take home mid-term for the break.

People like that should be taxed more, haha. 😛

Anyways, I didn’t really get anything done on it at home other than giving it a quick look-over. I will most likely be very busy for the next few days. 🙁

In other news, Ubuntu 8.10 is being released in just 18 days on October 30th! I added a little banner on the side to hopefully catch the attention of a few people who might be interested.

College Years – Ending another semester

So I’ll be here at NC State until Monday, just finishing up some things. This semester has flown by so fast! I hope I can relax this weekend and get some time to myself, but everyday’s been busy for me lately with planned things and unplanned things.

I guess the one word that I chose to describe myself in my “Self-Imaging” post really is true, haha. Story of my life..being unscheduled.

Well, I added a forum to the blog so if you just want to chat with me you can. You can continually find the link in the column to the right. It is labeled “bbPress Forum“, which is also made by the same team that works on WordPress. They tied in nicely together, but it did take a bit of hacking and customization to get the appearances to match. I didn’t want it to seem like a completely different site, so I had to work on the style sheet and header a bit.

For now, you should check out the bbPress Forum and bookmark it! I’m planning to using it like a general chat, off-topic, whatever kind of board just for friends and visitors to talk in general with me. Hope you enjoy it!

I’m working on fitting a Photo Gallery in, but that will be just a little bit before it goes live. 😉

Hope everyone’s exams are going well! Good luck!

Finals Week Commences

Well, this week is going to be a rough one! My schedule for this week is basically two (easier) exams on Wednesday, Calc. exam on Friday morning along with my Discrete take-home final and my final project for CSC-251 due the same day. Then I get a short weekend break to cram for CSC-230 (C programming), which finishes off my finals for the semester!

The only ones I’m really not wanting to take are the Calc. exam and my Discrete take-home. I don’t know what it is about those two courses, but I hate them so much! I guess it’s related to the fact that my other three classes are all programming courses, hehe.

Anyhoo, back to working on school related annoyances. 🙂

Studying for a Calculus Test

Caculus BookWell, I’ve spent the majority of my day preparing for a Calculus exam that I have in the morning tomorrow. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to blog much this week, but I try to update you once in a while! 😉 The bad thing about this week is that as soon as I finish working on one thing…I can’t stop to take a break at all because something else is due.

What a hectic week! It’ll be nice to get to dead week and have free time to prepare for exams and not worry about homework conflicting with tests, etc. Let me know if you have any tips for Vector Calculus!

Exams are just around the corner

ncsuSo it’s almost time for final exams (only a couple of weeks), but I’m busy enough just getting through regular exams! I haven’t been posting nearly as much as I had originally intended, but things should mellow out and slow down in a couple weeks. I just finished on of my last regular exams.

That was a fun test…and I almost slept through it (I forced myself to get up, haha). I made myself stay up and study all night last night, but I finished studying around 6:00 am and decided to sleep for an hour. I woke up at 7:35 am, but it still left me plenty of time to get to class. I just like to look back over everything before an exam.

My professor is a really nice guy (C programming), but he seems to always work some errors into our tests. Every problem on the test is rewritten on the board to correct something. So annoying…and also the main reason I had to get glasses last year (I sit in the back with the anti-socials, lol).

Well, I’m off to finish some Discrete Mathematics homework and catch up on sleep.
