Get Steam Specials via RSS Feed

This is just a little hack I’ve used so I can subscribe to the “Specials” that are periodically released and published on the Steam website.

If you’re interested in letting your Feed client simplify your life by bringing the Steam updates directly to you then I suggest you subscribe to the feed that I’ve setup (via a great free service call Feed For Free).

When I searched for a feed for these Specials I came across one forum post after another asking the same thing. We all know how annoying that can be, so to remedy the situation I decided to post a solution myself. 😉

As you can see below, these pages don’t have feeds of their own, but the very awesome Feed For Free site will let you pull the updates straight into your feed reader with ease. See my Google Reader pictured below.

The eyeballing game

I love time waster games. This one, “The eyeballing game,” is pretty fun and it’s a true test to how well you pay attention to detail.

My score ended up being fair. I’m sure if I took it again I could score higher, especially with some form of aid to measure on screen. 😛

I scored a 4.43 on the game. Lower is better. I didn’t come close to others though. See how well you can do!

It runs you through the set of tests three times and takes the average of them as your score. The list of tests include measurements with:

  • Parallelogram
  • Midpoint
  • Bisect angle
  • Triangle center
  • Circle center
  • Right angle
  • Convergence

Give it go!

I could survive for 1 minute and 19 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor.

After reading up on my daily dose of feeds at Google Reader I came across Hannah’s interesting/comical post dealing with velociraptors and survival.

Obviously that caught my eye so I had to try this myself. It’s just a fun little 10 question test.

I could survive for 1 minute, 19 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor

If that’s as long as I could survive, haha, well then why bother trying. I think my strategy would have been to run around under and through the bed to get the velociraptor tangled up so it couldn’t move…much like a dog, haha.
